READ THE MATERIAL
Find the strongest gestures, frames and details. Understand the product before deciding the pace.
I begin by looking for what the material is already trying to say — the gesture, the product, the atmosphere and the energy inside the footage. The edit is built around that core rather than around effects.
Rhythm, color, sound, typography and motion are then shaped to support the image. The objective is precision: enough control to make the film feel unmistakably intentional, with nothing competing for attention.
Find the strongest gestures, frames and details. Understand the product before deciding the pace.
Create tension and release through timing, contrast and silence. Energy should feel controlled, never arbitrary.
Sound, typography and motion are treated as one system, supporting the same visual language as the footage.
Remove what is unnecessary, polish transitions and keep refining until the technique disappears into the film.
Less noise.
More intention.
The final film should feel composed, atmospheric and effortless — even when every frame has been carefully considered.
